Do you dream of living a long, healthy life? Fortunately, it is much easier to achieve this dream today, in a world that is more technologically and medically advanced than ever before. Because of these favorable advances, the life expectancies in most countries have increased. It is not enough, however, to solely rely on technology and medicine to increase your life expectancy. In order to make your dream a reality, you need to take a few additional steps. To improve your chances of living a long life, you should eat and drink healthy, have a consistent sleep routine, be physically and mentally active, reduce causes of stress and depression, avoid and/or quit smoking, and abstain from overindulgence. * Eat and drink healthy.†¦show more content†¦This rich little treat not only helps your heart, but it also makes you happy by releasing endorphins in your body. To stay healthy, it is important to eat less processed foods because they have a large amount of refined sugar, which increases the replicating process of the cells in your body. Cells can only replicate a certain number of times before the process ends, and they are not replaced by other cells. So once those cells stop replicating, they are no longer there for your body. Thus, sugar increases the cells? replication process, thereby shortening their lifespan, and ultimately shortening your lifespan. Drinking healthy is as important as eating healthy. Some of the healthiest drinks include 100 percent juices, such as tomato juice, apple juice, orange juice, etc., milk, tea, red wine, and of course, water. Tea, particularly green tea, has many health benefits. Green tea can lower the chance of heart attack and cancer, increase your energy and metabolic weight, which aids in weight loss, and it has a high amount of antioxidants. Drinking one glass of red wine a day can also help sustain a healthy heart and slow down aging. Red wine contains substances called polyphenols, which preserve the elasticity of the artery walls and act as antioxidants.
